Jobs

The Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House Association (VATMH) is dedicated to fostering German-American cultural exchange through the operation of two unique residencies: Villa Aurora, an artists’ residence, and the Thomas Mann House, a forum and meeting place for intellectuals from across German society. VATMH’s activities span a wide spectrum of cultural programming, including readings, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, performances, and discussion series addressing pressing social issues. This is what we stand for:

The Thomas Mann House in Los Angeles aims to create a lively place for transatlantic debate, where outstanding personalities explore fundamental political, social, and cultural issues of the present and future in exchange with each other and with the host country. Fellowships and events facilitate these encounters and intellectual exchange. Various media formats give personalities from Germany and the USA a voice and bring them into an open dialog with a broad public.

The Villa Aurora promotes German-American cultural exchange as an artist residency and a place for international cultural encounters. As a house of remembrance, it keeps alive the memory of the artists and intellectuals who found refuge in California during the National Socialist era and had a significant influence on cultural life on the American West Coast.
