Villa Aurora and Thomas Mann House – Two Special Houses in Los Angeles

We are a group called Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House Association.
We take care of two houses in Los Angeles.
The houses are called Villa Aurora and Thomas Mann House.

We help artists and smart people from Germany.
They can live and work in Los Angeles for a short time.
We help people from Germany and the USA to meet and talk.

Villa Aurora is a house for artists from Germany.
Artists can live there for a few months.
They get money and help for their work.
They meet other artists and share ideas.
The house also remembers people who had to leave Germany many years ago because it was not safe.

The Thomas Mann House was the home of a famous writer, Thomas Mann.
Now, it is a place for smart people to live and think about big questions.
There are talks and meetings about life, culture, and society.
The goal is for people from Germany and the USA to learn from each other.

Villa Aurora and Thomas Mann House help people from Germany and the USA meet.
Artists and smart people can talk and work together.
They can make new friends and new projects.
The houses also help us remember history.
They show why freedom and talking to others is important.

We organize scholarships for both houses.
We plan many events in Germany and the USA.
We want people from both countries to meet and learn from each other.
We also remember the history of German exiles in California.
