An engaging program awaits you, featuring author and journalist Shelly Kupferberg, longtime President of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) Steven Lavine, writer and activist Sharon Dodua Otoo, and the book's two editors Claudia Gordon and Jakob Scherer. The evening will be opened by Markus Klimmer, Chairman of the Board of Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House, with welcoming remarks by Sven Lehmann, Chair of the Bundestag Committee on Culture and Media.
Der Jubiläumsband zum 30-jährigen Bestehen versammelt Stimmen aus drei Jahrzehnten – darunter literarische und essayistische Beiträge von Sharon Dodua Otoo, Donna Rifkind, Alex Ross, Sabine Scho, Randol E. Schoenberg, Karosh Taha, Lawrence Weschler und Maryam Zaree. Ergänzt wird der Band durch Archivmaterial, Architekturfotografien von Mike Kelley sowie eine Einführung der Herausgebenden Claudia Gordon und Jakob Scherer.
This anniversary volume marking thirty years of Villa Aurora gathers voices from across all epoches—including literary and essayistic contributions by James Conlon, Sharon Dodua Otoo, Donna Rifkind, Alex Ross, Sabine Scho, E. Randol Schoenberg, Karosh Taha, Lawrence Weschler, and Maryam Zaree. The book is enriched by archival material, architectural photography by Mike Kelley, a recent photo series by Todd Gray, and an introduction by editors Claudia Gordon and Jakob Scherer.
