The Importance of Artist Residencies

As part of the panel discussion “The Studio in a Foreign Land,” artists—including Villa Fellows Albert Weis (2009), the chairman of Villa Aurora, Markus Klimmer (pictured left), as well as other representatives of international funding organizations and policymakers, discussed the impact of artist residencies on foreign cultural policy and artistic development on October 24 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.
