During her stay at Villa Aurora Marianna is working on two different projects. One is related to Frank Lloyd Wrights Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and his buildings in Los Angeles. The other one is about both, social and geographical shifts in California. On May 29, she will talk about the results and research of her two road trips.

Dörte Franke & Marc Bauder will share images of an installation they conceived for this year's 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. In addition they will screen scenes of their movies "The System" and "Master of the Universe". On May 22 there will be a screening of "The System" at the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles.

Stefan Kriekhaus will ask the audience to be part of an experiment on perception and expectation. He will also give some insights into the project he is working on in Los Angeles.

Back from his U.S. Tour, conceptual artist for Electro, Techno, House, Minimal and Noise Pantha du Prince will show parts of a performance of Terry Riley's "In C" he recorded with The Bell Laboratory at London's Barbican.

Pham Doang Trang
As a journalist, blogger and activist Pham Doan Trang commits herself to democracy and human rights in Vietnam. She published articles and comments in a variety of Vietnamese print and online media. Additionally, she organized political blogger campaigns. In 2008, she published a bestselling book on the plight of Vietnam's LGBT community. On May 29 we will introduce her and her work to our friends and guests.
