For the curators of the Women message 65+ exhibition a meeting in person with the Berlin artist Gisela Weimann (b. 1943) and her work represented the initial impulse for its staging. The monographic exhibition of the Berlin artist is thus taken to be part of the parallel presentation of Czech and Slovak female artists and as an hommage to her work and life enthusiasm and commitment. The work of Gisela Weimann alternates between installation and performance art with a marked gender element and a visuality which brings it close to concept art. Typical of her artistic work is an interest in a space where graphic art meets music. The artist will be creating a unique installation for the Jaroslav Král Gallery.
