Veronika Kellndorfers Succulent Screen is Teil der der Ausstellung UNSEEN im Department für Photographie des Getty Centers. Die Künstlerin war 2003 Fellow in der Villa Aurora.

 

 

UNSEEN hat einen besonderen Stellenwert in der Geschichte der Photographie Abteilung des Getty Museums. Seit ihrer Gründung vor 35 Jahren bildete die Sammlung die Grundlage für über 160 Ausstellungen. Obwohl sie die gesamte Bandbreite der Getty Bestände zeigten, war nur ein geringer Teil aller Kunstwerke jemals ausgestellt worden.  Für UNSEEN hat das gesamte kuratorische Team Schätze gehoben, die noch nie der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt worden waren, so auch “Succulent Screen”. Die Photoarbeit wurde 2018 angekauft und wird in einer Galerie mit anderen Neuankäufen zu sehen sein.

Unseen: 35 Years of Collecting Photographs

2003 Villa Aurora fellow Veronika Kellndorfer's work Succulent Screen, will be featured in the J. Paul Getty’s Department of Photographs’ upcoming exhibition Unseen: 35 Years of Collecting Photographs.

 

UNSEEN holds a particularly significant place in the department’s history. Since its founding thirty-five years ago, the collection of photographs has inspired more than 160 exhibitions at the Getty. Though these shows have illuminated the vast mosaic of the holdings, only a small percentage of the collection has ever been placed on public display. With UNSEEN, the entire curatorial team has collaborated on unearthing an array of treasures, none of which has been exhibited here before. It's a wonderful opportunity to show “Succulent Screen”, which entered the collection in 2018, it will be displayed in a gallery devoted to new acquisitions.
