Isabelle Stever studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. Her graduation film ERSTE EHE was awarded several prizes, one of which was the "First Steps" award for young directors in 2002. The debut film GISELA, premiered at the International Film Festival Locarno 2005, received the "Crossing Europe Award". In 2009, Isabelle Stever contributed a short film to DEUTSCHLAND 09. According to the news magazine "Der Spiegel", the anthology film was produced by the "German directing elite" and premiered at the Berlinale competition. BLESSED EVENTS premiered in 2010 and screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, was well received by critics. In 2015, THE WEATHER INSIDE was shown at the International Film Festival Busan and as the opening film at the Max Ophüls Festival, among others, and was awarded two prizes at the 2morrow Film Festival in Moscow.

Isabelle Stever lives in Berlin and works as a director and author. She is also a freelance lecturer at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, the Petersburg School of New Cinema and the Moscow Film School of New Cinema.

Isabelle Stever will use her scholarship to work on the research for her new cinema film.
